Since last year, the event has been spreading in regions with first participations throughout the country. It is therefore all the French who are invited, for this 6eeding, to take a fresh look at art galleries.
Eclectic artistic programming under the sign of conviviality
Annual meeting established in 2015, "A Sunday at the Gallery" is above all a moment of discovery and exchanges bringing together artists, critics, gallerists, art lovers and neophytes. Because defending and valuing artistic creation is one of the essential missions of the Professional Committee of Art Galleries, this event is an invitation to immerse yourself in the world of art galleries to enjoy the rich and varied programming of these places accessible free of charge to all year round. The 13 next September, the public will be able to dive, through a hundred exhibitions and events, at the heart of the work of more than 350 artists.
The galleries, a space for exchanges, open to the public free of charge throughout the year
The Professional Committee of Art Galleries now counts more than 280 galleries and defends the interests of this profession since 1947. A privileged interlocutor of policies, institutional representatives and administrative authorities, he takes part in the development of art market regulations and contributes to cultural policies conducive to the whole sector. The Committee strengthens the role of galleries in the artistic and cultural environment by building on their expertise, their work in promoting artists and artistic currents, while committing to ensuring the sustainability of relations with all private and public actors in the art market. The Committee is also committed to defending French artists whose recognition and success are unwaveringly linked to the galleries that represent them. For several years, the Committee has been investing in major cultural events, such as "A Sunday at the Gallery", to promote better visibility of galleries, which are true partners in artistic creation.
