Date: from 17/10/2015 to 06/03/2016.
From 17 October 2015 to 6 March 2016 Exhibition « Thomas Couture (1815-1879)- Workshop method and interviews.' The exhibition is dedicated to Thomas Couture's workshop practices (1815-1879), to this technique so special that he taught from 1848 and that he theorized in 1867 in his method and workshop interviews. She tries to show the master's stylistic evolution from his attempts at the Rome Prize competition to the pre-impressionist canvases of the last hours, the academicism that was so often criticized him and the modernity to which he consented at the end of his life. Drawings and paintings from the Senlis Museum, public institutions of France and Europe and private collections will be gathered in the art and archaeology museum's rooms, notably in the chapel called Chancellor Guérin, Thomas. Couture rented from 1861 to establish its Senlisian workshop. Wednesday to Sunday (except 25 December and 11 January): 10h-13h and 14h-18h at the Museum of Art and Archaeology. Full rate: 6 €. Reduced rate: 3 €, free for less than 18 years. Information: 03.44.24.86.72. musees@ville-senlis.fr
