Built in the 1st century AD, about 8,000 spectators could take place in Senlis arenas to witness gladiator fighting.
At the beginning of the fifth century, Honorius' edict prohibited gladiature; fighting left room for concerts, plays and pantomimes.
From April to October, the arenas are visited on the first Sunday of each month at 15h from the Tourist Office.
